The DC Department of Parks and Recreation’s (DPR) Enrichment Zone program offers children a safe, supportive, and structured afterschool environment Monday through Friday for up to 1.5 hours. Activities provide quality recreational and cultural experiences that promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development. These activities include homework time, arts & crafts, sports & fitness, enrichment activities and much more! The daily schedule is designed to complement activities that children participate in at their schools and to strengthen their sense of belonging in their communities.

Activities provide quality recreational and cultural experiences that promote physical, intellectual, and emotional development. These activities include homework time, arts & crafts, sports & fitness, enrichment activities and much more! The daily schedule is designed to complement activities that children participate in at their schools and to strengthen their sense of belonging in their communities.

A fun-filled interactive parent and child program that includes songs, parachutes, games, balls, music, running, and more. There is a focus on development of gross motor skills, coordination, socialization, cooperation and cognitive skills. A great workout for the children...and the adults!

When the DC Public Schools (DCPS) have full-day closures for staff development, DPR offers Fun Day camps for children ages 6 and up. These are single-day programs featuring enriching activities, sports, arts & crafts, and more.

Registration fees are due at the time of registration. Please note that fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Open enrollment will begin for DC Residents' on April 22nd.

The DPR Cooperative Play Program (Co-op) advances youth development using outcome based programming and developmentally appropriate practices in a creative and recreational play environment. Participation in this program requires families to volunteer a minimum of once a week during the programmatic hours of 9a-12p. Before signing up, please consider if this commitment is suitable for your family.

***Some sites may be full due to re-enrollment*** The Cooperative Play Program fees are $1,920 per year for residents and $2,560 for non-residents. There is a separate registration fee of $75 due at the time of online registration. A registration fee will only be refunded if there are duplicate enrollments. This fee will not be applied to any associated program fees. This fee is independent of the Co-op "Program Fee"
