Athletic Permit Seasons:
Fall: Labor day through third Sunday in November
Winter: Third Monday in November through third Sunday in March
Spring: Third Monday in March through third Sunday in June
Summer: Third Monday in June through Labor Day

Permit Application Windows are posted at DPR.DC.GOV click HERE
If the Permit Window is missed, the system will reopen for requests closer to the season start date.

Indoor Facility/Rec Center Reservations Requests

Permits inside DPR Recreation and Aquatic Centers are available at select pools, gymnasiums and multipurpose rooms by request. Search below for available locations and please read the availability description above each facility.

Park Site Reservations for Outdoor Events

DPR Park Sites and open spaces are currently available for rental for private events. Please search below to find available spaces, rules, and capacity limits for each site.

This process will "purchase" or "request" space depending on the facility you choose. Always check the "Status" on your receipt.

Community Special Event on a DPR Property

All REQUESTS MUST BE MADE 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE AND WILL TAKE UP TO 10 DAYS TO PROCESS THE REQUEST

The request receipt will show IN-REVIEW and a zero balance and you will be contacted by a Permit Officer within 10 business days, costs will only be assessed if and when the space is confirmed

DPR Equipment / Transportation Request

All REQUESTS MUST BE MADE 15 DAYS IN ADVANCE

DPR equipment requests can be made below for your Special Events. Requests below should be ONLY for Equipment and/or Transportation Requests. Transportation request are for District Government ONLY. If you are also requesting space at a DPR facility that should be done as a Special Request.

Equipment are available only by "Request". Your request will need to be assessed by a Permit Officer before rental can be approved. THIS REQUEST IS NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL A PERMIT OFFICER CONTACTS THE CUSTOMER AND A FIRM (Paid) RECEIPT IS ISSUED. Space may look available but the Permit Office will need to assess the request before confirmation. All Equipment requests MUST be made 15 days in advance of your event. The request receipt will show IN-REVIEW and a zero balance and you will be contacted by a Permit Officer within 7 business days, costs will only be assessed if and when the space is confirmed. Additional documents may be required.

"Purchase" rooms and spaces are immediately reserve-able -- select the site, date and time; pay for your reservation and you will receive a receipt that you can present on the day of your event. Examples of spaces available for "Purchase": Most Multipurpose Rooms (not during camp dates), Park Sites, In-Season Fields, Courts (Basketball and Tennis) and Pool Lanes

"Request" rooms and spaces will need to be assessed by a Permit Officer before rental can be approved. THESE ROOMS ARE NOT CONFIRMED UNTIL A PERMIT OFFICER CONTACTS THE CUSTOMER. A request space may look available but the Permit office will need to assess the appropriateness of the request for that particular space. DPR generally will not allow multiple private events at a single Rec center at one time. DPR recommends requesting these spaces 30 days in advance and 14 days in advance is required to process these reservations. These requests will show a zero balance on your receipt and you will be contacted by a Permit Officer within 3 business days, costs will only be assessed if and when the space is confirmed. Examples of space that are "Requested": Gymnasiums, Boxing Rings, Classrooms, Dance Rooms, Pools (use of full pool indoor and outdoor) and all Equipment (PA System, Microphone, Podium, Platform Riser, Showmobile)
If you are requesting space during an advertised Athletic Permit window, all spaces will be "Requests", please allow 21 business days for processing.

Human Rights: All participants of services provided by DPR, or on behalf of DPR by DPR partners, grantees or volunteers, shall receive services without regard race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, marital status, personal appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, family responsibilities, genetic information, matriculation, political affiliation, credit information, homeless status, and/or victims or family members of victims of domestic violence, sexual offense or stalking. Sexual Harassment is prohibited under Mayor’s Order 2023-131 (October 31, 2023). DPR and its partners, grantees and volunteers shall strictly implement these rights on behalf of DPR. Violations of these rights shall result in termination of partnership, grant, or volunteer agreement. Program participants and guests using DPR facilities who violate these rights as to other DPR guests and as to DPR employees, shall be barred from the facilities in DPR’s discretion. Violations of these rights may be reported directly to DPR Management or to the Office of Human Rights https://ohr.dc.gov/service/file-discrimination-complaint
